FINALLY HOME!

It was a rough weekend commnuting back and forth from the hospital, but Avery could only take being there a few hours at a time. She is warming up to her little brother especially since we brought him home today. She is much more intrigued and willing to help out. You got to love them at this age when they start understanding and can take orders: Avery go the diapers or Avery get the remote. She obeys with exactness and proud to have helped, well maybe 70% of the time. (Not to bad for just under 2) Landon has been pretty mild and easy going, he too also listens very well, I told him to not move while i left the room and he didn't budge. (Sometimes I wish Avery were still in the pet rock phase a lot more would be accomplished) Ali and the babe are both doing well. Ali is quite the "Cash Cow" already producing liquid gold like it is going out of style, if she keeps up this rate we will need to buy another fridge next month. All the nurses at the hospital were in amazment of how much she was producing, I have never seen such excitment over breast milk. I will admit I am going to miss the hospital in a few ways. It sure was nice to have someone watching your kid all night long feeding him and changing his diapers, I guess it was time to pass the torch to Dad while Ali recovers. I will also miss the free reign we had on the snack closet full of juice, oreo's and those amazing Lorna Dunn cookies. (I may have packed out a dozen or two with all our stuff when we left, hey at $400+ a night can you blame me? So don't judge me) Any who here are a few new pictures to enjoy.

Here is a little bit of info and some pictures to enjoy until i have more time to do a slide show. Landon Scott English born 4.24.09 @ 12:55pm, Weighs 7lbs 4oz (Much larger than anyone expected) 19.5 inches tall. He was pretty lively right out of the gate showing off his new set of lungs. On the APGAR scale he was a 9. (Activity, Pulse, Grimace, Appearance & Respiration)He has some dark wavy/curly hair and a mad chin quiver. Mom and Baby are both doing great!

Baby Landon update

Just to give everyone an update, Ali did not have the baby yet. The Dr. was expecting to induce her on Tuesday but after doing an ultra sound we were surprised to find out that the baby had showed sugnificant growth over the last 2 weeks and the fuild level was also high. THe Dr. was happy with what he saw and said that we are going to wait a little longer. THe game plan now is to wait for Ali to go into labor naturally if she does not by 4/23 the Dr. will do a C-section on Friday the 24th. THe ultra sound estimated Landon to be about 6lbs 4oz but he thinks that the baby is smaller than that.

Well, there is a good chance that baby Landon will make his appearance in this crazy world today. Alison's Dr. appointment is at 3:30pm and we will find out then. Last week Ali stopped growing (Same thing that Aver did) and the Dr. said he wanted the baby to "cook" for one more week and to plan on having a baby on the 14th. Unless there is some miraculous growth during this week. Who knows?? For me I think today will be the day. We also finished the decor in Landon's room, it turned out pretty cool.

One night after Scott and I had gotten avery to sleep we were down stairs watching a movie and we heard a thud coming from Avery's room. So when we went upstairs to see what was going on we noticed that Avery was sound asleep on the floor. I guess she had fallen out of bed and was just too tired to get back in bed so she just stayed on the floor and continued sleeping.

Avery loves her stuffed animals! She always sleeps with her pig stuffed animal it is her favorite! Well one night she decided that she needed to have a few more friends in bed with her. After Scott and I had put her to bed with her pig we checked in on her a little bit later and noticed that she had gotten out of bed and brought about 10 more stuffed animals out of the basket and put them in bed with her, and went to sleep. It was one of the cutest things so I had to take a picture!

I am an instuctor in the relief society, and I have the wonderful oppertunity to teach the lessons from the general conference talks (TFOT). Today my lesson way from president Monson's talk " Finding joy in the journey". What a wonderful talk it was! It talks about no matter what changes good or bad we go thru in life, or challenges whatever they may be that we endure, we need to relish in life and find joy in everything! I was so grateful for the oppertunity to teach this lesson, it was probably one of my favorite talks I have taught from! We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for! Don't let the hussel and bussel of life keep us from enjoying the moments with our loved ones! Let us remember what is truly important in life, so that we don't find ourselves full of regret because we thought we would have all the time in the world to do everything we want to do. My favorite quote in this talk is "You pile up enough tomorrows, and you’ll find you’ve collected a lot of empty yesterdays" let us enjot the journey now! This video is a perfect example of why it is so important to enjoy every moment we have with our loved ones, and be thankful for what we have! Our Sweet Little Avery

Recently Ali and I decided that we would lower Avery's crib and put up the day bed rail to see if we could start training her in a big girl bed. (Shes a little young but we have heard other people have success when starting earlier) Anyway she has done really well. THe first 3 night's she has never gotten out of it, she does however tend to get up a little bit earlier. When she wakes up she is really happy because she can just hop out of bed and leaver her room. She usually comes out with an excited smile and finds her mom. Most of the time Ali will still be in bed around 8:30 and Avery will come straight to her with a cheerful hello. On the rare occasion that she has gotten up in the middle of the night we have always heard her and she wakes us up. Well this morning when i woke up for work I was getting out of bed and my foot stepped on a large teddy bear that was not in my room the night before, than as I walked around the bed I see another teddy large teddy bear had been dragged into the room, realizing that oh Avery must be up playing with her toys with out us noticing. I began to look around the house to see where she was at...I look in her room no Avery, I check down the hall and living room still no Avery. Now I began to think ok where did she go? I look again in my bedroom to find our little girl had actually gone on the other side of the bed (Ali's side) and plopped herself down on a large pillow next to the laundry and fallen asleep. It was so cute. She probably came in all excited dragging her bears into our room and when no one else was awake decided to lay back down herself. I feel a little bad that neither of us woke up and hopefully she wasn't too sad.

This Weekend Richard, Dan and I drove out to Denver to go see the Utes take on The Air Force Academy with Jared, Erin and little Kaitlyn. It was a great game, our Utes came out victorious with a back and forth scoring game that came down to the wire. Colorado Springs was a nice place to visit, the Air Force stadium is smaller but in a cool setting built into the hill side. Before kick off they did a fly by with one of those huge refueling jets followed by another large aircraft about to connect. It was pretty neat to have so many Utah fans out to an away game, our fan section was loud and crazy just as it should be. At the end of the game the players came over to our section and one of them threw one of the game balls into the stands almost right at us but a guy 2 rows down ended up catching it. The players hung out by our section and gave their fans a shout out of appreciation for supporting them on the road. I guess we even made it on TV at the end of the game the camera guy panned in on a fan right in front of us holding a sign that said 4 - 0 we had a few people call us right after saying they can see us on TV in the fan section. It was a great trip I think as long as Jared & Erin live out here we are going to have to make it a standard trip to come see and away game at either Air Force or Colorado State. Ali was supposed to join us in the festivities however she decided to spend some time with her sisters in park city this weekend before Penny gets married.

4 Wheeling up to Mineral Basin

Kade and I took a little ride up American Fork canyon after work a couple weeks ago. It was alot of fun. When we got there it felt like perfect weather, after riding up the past Tibble Fork Resivor for a few miles it got cold real fast. mid 40's We decided to go up to the Mineral Basin area and climb some big rocks, I only had our old camera with us and the dark of night creeped up on us pretty quick. You can't see Kade very well but he's there. THe next 2 pictures are of me, we had a great time.

For my birthday Scott took me up to Park City for a night out on the town! I have never been to the alpine slide so we went and rode the alpine slide, and also the alpine coaster. That was alott of fun to do! Then we had to stop at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to get some yummy treats! Then we went and had dinner at Banditts on main street, and it was pretty good. It was really nice to go out on a date with my hubby! Thanks to our good friend Elisa for watching Avery we were able to spend some time together just the two of us. That doesn't happen very often so it was really nice. It was a wonderful birthday Thanks Babe!

I bought avery a TMX Elmo for her birthday thinking that she would love it! Well not only does she not like it, but it scares her to death. As you can see in the pictures it makes her cry instead of laugh. I guess you can't always know what your child will like and not like.

My wife is absolutely amazing!! I cannot begin to tell you how much I love her, and my gorgeous little daughter Avery. Being a Father and a Husband is an honor and a privilege. I am so blessed to have them both in my life and I truly know that my life would not be complete with out them. I love you both with all my heart. Thank you for making this father's day so exciting. My morning began with a great gift, Alison had gone to the photo studio with Avery and had some beautiful pictures taken of them together. We then had a delicious breakfast with our 2 closest neighbors; Chris & Amy and the Picketts. Jerry makes great French Toast. A couple hours later we were off to church enjoying the day. After church was over I expected to hurry home so we could get things together for a BBQ at my sister's house, as i start pulling in the drive way and click the garage door opener I waive to my neighbors out in their yard and suddenly slam on the brakes! As my garage was opening I catch a glimpse of a foreign object with a big red bow on the front looking me straight in the eye. The neighbors start laughing at me because the look on my face was apparently priceless. I turn to my wife with a rather confused look and she smiles real cute and says with a grin...Happy Father's Day. To my complete surprise she went out and bought me a brand new Suzuki King Quad ATV. I was so shocked and excited I almost forgot to put the car in park before I jumped out to look at it. What an amazing gift. I am so lucky to have a wife that would do something so crazy and fun. I love you babe, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Last Saturday Scott played in a coed softball tournament out in Sandy. They played all day long and took 2nd place. Avery found a cookie watching from the side lines, need I say more.

Well if you don't know that Scott loves softball you will now! Every year for Scott's birthday he wants a new softball bat, so of course that is what he got again this year. Well I guess that this bat was extra special to him because he fell asleep holding his bat. It was pretty funny! I guess I did a good job with his gift.

My sister Carrie and I left the room for a second, and next think we know we hear taylor fussing, so we go back in the room, and Avery has knoked Taylor's car seat over on it's side (with taylor in it) with a look on her face of I don't know how that happened? It was pretty funny!

Conference weekend in St.George

For conference weekend Penny, Derek, Scott, and I decided to go down to St. George, and we had a great time! Scott and I left Avery home with family, and headed down to do stuff you can't do with a baby. We had a blast, we hiked, played tennis, went swimming, and slept in! I must say it was nice to get away from being a mom for a weekend, and just relax! Eventhought Penny and Derek made Scott and I look we have never hiked a day in our life, and kicked our butts we had a great time, and we looked forward to more adventures with them in the future!

HUBBY TAG!

WHAT IS HIS NAME? Scott Patrick English

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER? It will be 4 years this July from when we started dating.

HOW OLD IS HE? Scott will be 28 this May.

WHO EATS MORE? Scott for sure, he usually finishes what I don't eat.

WHO SAID "I LOVE YOU" FIRST? Scott did, but i wanted to say it the night I met him!

WHO IS TALLER? Scott is. I am 5'4 and he is 6'3. Just a little bit

WHO SINGS BETTER? Scott does, I think he is a great singer! I hope avery gets her singing voice from her dad and not me!

WHO IS SMARTER? For sure Scott!

WHO DOES THE LAUNDRY? That would be me for sure. Once in a while Scott trys to help out, but man he is a slow folder! I worked at a clothing store for 3 years so I have a paticular way of folding the clothes, and I can fold 10 things in the time Scott folds 2 things. No offense babe!

WHO DOES THE DISHES? That is one thing that I think we are pretty even on. It just all depends, but Scott does a great job helping put with the dishes.

WHO PAYS THE BILLS? Scott works hard to bring in the money to pay the bills, but I am the one that sends to money in the pay them.

WHO MOWS THE LAWN? That would be me. Once again I have a paticular way of mowing the lawn, and Scott thinks that I am crazy for mowing it twice every time so I do, but I don't mind.

WHO COOKS DINNER? Most of the time Scott does, he is a far better cook than I am. One in a while I get ambitious and try to make a great meal from the cook book my mother-in-law gave me, but Scott definetly cook more than I do. I am a lucky girl!

WHO DRIVES WHEN YOU ARE TOGETHER? Scott does, I'm not really sure why that is because i like to drive too, but it just ends up that way every time we go somewhere together.

WHO IS MORE STUBBORN? Depends on what the situation is, but I would have to say it is probably me.

WHO KISSED WHO FIRST? Scott kissed me first on our 3rd date, but I could tell he was very nervous. We were at his place, and all if the sudden he said to me I think I over analize things to much. I asked him what he was talking about, and told me he was thinking about kissing me, but he wasn't sure if he should. So I told him to stop over analizing things, and so he procedded to go in for the kiss! I thought it was cute how nervous he was.

WHO PROPOSED? Scott did! He took me up to a place called secret lake (that is where we went on our first date.) He had he sister Melissa and her boyfriend Chip go up earlier and set up a blanket, I beilieve it was two dozen roses, and some sparkling cider right next to the lake. When we got up there Scott got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was very sweet!!

WHO IS MORE SENSITIVE? I would have to say I am. Like my sister-in-law Melissa I too cry at commercials.

HOW HAS MORE FRIENDS? That is a toss up, but I think that Scott has a little more. Someday we might actually start hang out with them more?

WHO HAS MORE SIBLINGS? I do, but just by one. Scott has 4 and I have 5.

WHO WEARS THE PANTS IN THE FAMILY? I think that we trade off all the time, because we are both layed back, but we both like to call the shots.

Scott is the best thing that has ever happened to me! He has done so much for me I am so lucky? I am so grateful to him for giving me the most beautiful daughter in the world! Also I am thankful that he supports my dream of being a stay at home mom, it isn't always easy but Scott makes it possible for me to stay home. I really have been blessed with an amazing Husband! I couldn't imagine life without him. I love with all of my heart Babe!!!!

The Picture on the Left was taken at my Parents house with my phone on June 17th, so she was just 5 days old. When we brought her home from the hospital her weight was 5lbs 2oz. (Also note in this picture that my little girl has already learned how to flip the bird) The picture on the right was taken at 4 months, her weight 13lbs 10oz! Our little piglet likes to eat like her Daddy.
